I”m a little disappointed with the way the water turned out but hey, I’m no Wyland.  Painting ripples & water movement is  just something I’ll have to practice on…

Northern Lights Road Trip

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I might have a small obsession with the Northern Lights.  I realized this last week when I heard about the powerful solar storm that happened on the night of March 6th & 7th.  The solar storm produced a coronal mass ejection (CME) which was headed for earth & expected to reach on March 8th.  As soon as I heard about the solar storm, I wanted to drive up as far north as I could get. Reach For The Stars

A few weeks ago was my Grandpa’s first birthday in Heaven.  For weeks I’ve been debating on if I should share the story about how I was inspired to draw this (afraid to sound like a crazy person) Continue reading

Celebrate Love EVERY day…

I think we should all celebrate love EVERY day..  I don’t mean candy, cards, flowers, etc…..  Just LOVE!!!  :)

and now, I bring you some pictures of a special doll.

It's eye looks REAL! The reflection of my camera lens was a completely cool creepy accident. Love it!

Paintings toward a Cure…

I was in a lime green & purple mood this past weekend & below are the results of my artwork.  My partner even joined me painting this weekend but those aren’t finished yet.  There will be more to come.  We were inspired by these colors because lime green is the color of the cause of awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and purple is the color of Ethan’s birthstone (amethyst).

For the next few weeks, 100% of proceeds for all art I sell will be donated toward the walk I will be participating in on March 24, 2012.

Praying for a cure….

Just recently my partner’s nephew was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).  I’ve never even heard of this disease until he started going to the doctor & was being tested.  After a few visits to the doc, we found out he had Muscular Dystrophy, but we didn’t know which type.  While we were waiting for the results of which type he has, we couldn’t help but turn to the internet to research more about the disease.  We feared the worst…  The symptoms & signs were all there & then after a few very looonng weeks of waiting, the test results came back & unfortunately it is Duchenne’s.  :( Continue reading

The Hawks Stare

Last November I went out walking around Catigny Gardens and came across a hawk that was perched up on a tree branch, probably no more than 10 feet up from the ground.  I don’t think I’ve ever been that close to a hawk before and I was surprised by how LARGE those birds really are!  The wingspan of Red Tailed Hawks is usually around 4ft in length and let me just say, I got chills when the hawk flew off the branch it was perched on because it flew right over my head & I felt the wind from it’s flapping wings go right down the back of my neck!!!!  It was Awesome!

My hawk is a little bit fat in comparison, but oh well
